have you ever tried a rubik's touchcube? Those things are a pain as well. No moving parts, only the face that is looking upwards can be moved/rotated...it's very disorientating.
I got the touch cube only because it was on sale for $20, original price >$100. It was a clever idea, with touch screens being the future, but if people can't solve a normal cube, where's the incentive to solve a touch one. Right now it's sits on my computer desk, being used as a lamp.
